Hi,
Yesterday I wanted to add a second computer to my account (AMD Athlon 64 3200+)
I was using Ubuntu for 64 bit and I could install BOINC from the ubuntu(universe)-sources, start it and it seemed to work fine. But I got this message:
"unknown platform (x86_64_gnu-linux)" (or something like this)

Today I updated to Ubuntu 6.10 and installed the "normal" i368-Version (at this time I was hoping it will help ;)

Okay, I installed BOINC again and it started to crunch the first WU. But it's so sloooow. It's even slower than on my 600Mhz Pentium III-Processor.

Any ideas?

Martin :)

There is no 64 bit E@H application. You can use BOINC anonymous platform mechanism. Just follow Bernd's instructions. Make sure you have 32bit libraries installed.

Yes, but it seems that the CPU is running at 100% while crunching. Do you think it's better to disable it?

Yes. It reduces clock speed.

Okay, I disabled C'n'Q - it isn't real fast now, but much better than before. Thank you, Michael :)
