One of my hosts, not even the fastest one, is crunching short WUs since 10 days. He was able to handle this, because of a pretty big WU-cache of 5 days.
But that's emty now.
The host was crunching about 50 WUs/day and with the new S38, this number will raise to 62 - 68!

I'd be very glad, if the daily quota could get raised again and also, if there could be a better mixture of long and short WUs.

I'm not very interested in uninstalling and installing again to get new work. ;)

I'm potentially in the same boat, I'm getting a mix of short and long WUs and while I haven't ran out yet, I did hit my max DL quota today, and if my mix stays over 25% short I'll eventually run out as well. Worse, if akosf manages to squeeze annother 25% out of the app my main PC will be running out even with all long WUs.

If you're not determined to crunch 100% einstien there's an easier option than messing around with installs. Add a 2nd project at a 1% timeshare. It'll take all the idle time your machine has when einstien runs out.

Well, beside my deep belief in the necessarity of fundamental research, I'm also member of a team, that's currently at first place in RAC valuation. :)
So I know I could add another valueable project, but I prefer to crunch 100% for einstein@home.

Been there...done that. :-(

I increased my cache to 1.5 days and finally, on the third day, I downloaded a mix of long and short WUs. Haven't run out since.

Patience...

I tried to preload my laptop

I tried to preload my laptop for my wife's trip to Pittsburgh with a little extra Einstein, as she will be a guest in a home without wireless and her net connection will not be up all the time.

Just bumping up the cache parameter from 0.8 days to 1.2 days hit the 32 limit. The machine is a mere 1.4 GHz Banias, but running Akosf S-39L it needs about 28 CPU minutes for a result from the short datafile in its current set, and about 96 minutes for either of the two long datafiles it is working on. By chance the new downloads were all from the short datafile, so soon the quota was exceeded.

Another vote for a higher daily limit. My hope is that the "day" is demarked in UTC, in which case I can download another 32 late this afternoon.

My fastest machine will run

My fastest machine will run out of work units in about an hour. . .it had downloaded 32 very short work units yesterday, and another 32 today, with Akosf's help I am crunching those out at 11 minutes apiece.

Count another vote for a higher daily limit.

If you run out of work units,

If you run out of work units, detach and then reattach to the project. Merge the new host with the old and life goes on.
