Hi there,
I am pretty new here and was just wondering why and how it is possible, that users can pile up a backlog of workunits (more than 160!!!)? The oldest one goes even back to 22. Jan. 2006.
See http://einsteinathome.org/host/436190/tasks
Nevertheless new work units are still beiing sent to this user causing a further increase in backlog.

If this is a normal practice, I can understand why my pending credit (approx. 2000) is getting higher and higher every day.

Hermann,

First off, Welcome to Einstein@Home! We hope that you'll like it here.

The host that you mentioned above most likely has a dialup internet connection, and possibly cannot connect every day, so he/she has set the "connect to" setting in preferences to a longer interval, so that it may continue to have work to do during internet outages. That host is returning results at a pretty good rate, so the setup should continue to work fine in that case.

For a detailed explanation of credit pending, see my post on this thread.

Michael
