    Hi all, A friend told me about this distributed computing project which I found really interesting. Finally, I got it installed & running on my PC.

    Questions:
    does my PC have to maintain a live internet connection constantly?

    What is a credit, and whats it good for. (I presume its not $).
    Do new 'tasks' get autoamtically initiated when a task is complete?

      Welcome aboard. You first stop should be the FAQ.

      Now for your answers:
      The PC does not need an internet connection 24/7. I often take my laptop on trips with me, and crunch while I am driving, and reconnect when I get someplace.

      Credits are just to give you something to compare to others. They are not transferrable to anything on our side. For the project's side they can show how much work is done in periods of time, and then use this for grant purposals, etc. There are many statistics sites out there to compare yourself to others.

      The system does download results as needed. You can make some adjustments to how much work you want on your box, or leave it at the default. Right now it keeps a minimal amout of work. I personally have upped mine a little, because my laptop can keep busy on a 10-15 hour trip without running out of work.
