I received a message today that I've never seen before and in effect said I had reached my daily quota of 16 results. Probably what caused this to occur was moving 2 machines from Rosetta to Einstien.

Am I going to need to make any changes to my general preferences, or will the BOINC manager in all it's wisdom figure out what's happened and make any needed changes?

I think I have my pref. set to connect every 4 days (although I connect more often) and currently have enoungh work for at least a couple of days but since my quota has been met, should I attempt to upload any further completed work today?

New Message

With some Albert results being fairly "short" compared to the older Einstein results, many people are hitting the daily quota. If you hooked up a new host and tried to get 4 days worth of work, that is probably more than 16 results. The quota is per-day, so if you reconnect tomorrow, you will get another 16 (or whatever it takes to get you up to 4 days estimated work). On initial startup, it sometimes takes several connections before your cache can be built up. If you are actually able to _complete_ 16 results in a day, you may never get the cache you're requesting.

So... connect again tomorrow, upload what's been finished by then, and it'll download more. After about 10 results have been completed, the estimates will be more accurate, and it may want even more than that.

You probably should be fine, unless you're seeing other errors as well. I'm assuming you got this message on your fastest machine. What that message means is that you're only allowed to download 16 work units/day. This is a system limit, not somehting user adjustable and intended to prevent abuse, both malicious and from a faulty PC trashing the servers. Your fastest machine is capable of doing 5+ work units/day (the new albert apps are variable in runtime, and the scheduler is aware of the fact), and attempted to DL 20ish at once. After

Thanks Dan, Bill, You are

Thanks Dan, Bill,

You are correct, the error message was on my fastest machine and so far no other error messages. I have enough work to get through the rest of the day(unless those Alberts get any faster) and I'll see what happens tomorrow. I was using the machine for both Rosetta and Einstein but after the Rosetta server had a brain cramp this AM and was sending me 5 or 6 MB of data for every 1 hour job sent, I think I'll just use it exclusively for Einstein@Home.

Thanks for the help,
