My Linux PC is no longer getting any work. It stopped suddenly yesterday.

Error message:

Sat 07 Jan 2006 14:03:29 UTC|Einstein@Home|Message from server: No work sent

It's for this PC:

http://einsteinathome.org/host/432221

Can anyone tell me what's wrong? Thanks

According to the stdout of your results you were using the Einstein beta application using the anonymous platform mechanism of BOINC. They released a new
application with new WUs, named Albert. In order to get these you must rename/remove the app_info.xml file. See Walt's post for an "official" explanation.

Thanks, that's sorted it.

Thanks, that's sorted it. Shame I can't use the beta app though, it was a bit faster

I'm running 5.2.13. When LHC

I'm running 5.2.13. When LHC came back from the dead I stopped getting WU from Einstein. It's been over a week since I've seen a single WU. The only WU I get is for LHC. Each time I do an update on Einstein, I get mroe WU from LHC. Does anyone have any ideas? Is this normal?

I read the references; thanks

I read the references; thanks for those. I could be patient and just wait a few more days but I hate to see Einstein suffer just because LHC was down for a month and is now trying to make it up. I bumped up the priority on Einstein a tad (50% Einstein, 35% LHC and 14% Climate). I'll check in 24 hours and see if that improves it a little. I have both CPUs (hyper-threading enabled) given over to BOINC so the machine has the capability. That really increased the WU output and BOINC v5 does a good job in getting out of the way when I need the CPU. Thanks for the help.

I've had that problem Richard. I hope your problem is as simple to fix as mine was!
I forgot to select the Einstien project before updating.
Now I select and update them all, whether they need it or not ;-)

I'm sticking my neck out because I doubt if this is recommended SOP, but when I encounter the situation you did -- accumulation of long term debt -- I just equalize the playing field by shutting down BOINC and editing the client_state.xml file; change all the short and long term debt numbers to 0.000000 Though this seems to work for me, do so at your own risk!

There is a tool out there that can edit this for you and is safer, but I do not remember the name of it. I thought it was BoincDV, or BoincLogX, or one of the several others that are out there.

BoincDV (Debt Viewer/Editor) is here. Works great! (You have to exit Boinc before editing the debts, then restart Boinc)
