At her best: ON this

At her best:

ON this wondrous sea,
Sailing silently,
Knowest thou the shore
Ho! pilot, ho!
Where no breakers roar,
Where the storm is o’er?

In the silent west
Many sails at rest,
Their anchors fast;
Thither I pilot thee,—
Land, ho! Eternity!
Ashore at last!

"We must be the change we wish to see."

I'll tell her she is missed. :-)

until then..

Dreams -- are well -- but Waking's better,
If One wake at morn --
If One wake at Midnight -- better --
Dreaming -- of the Dawn --

Sweeter -- the Surmising Robins --
Never gladdened Tree --
Than a Solid Dawn -- confronting --
Leading to no Day --

Hi Michael, very busy at the moment but here's a little one to be going on with....

Best Witchcraft is Geometry
To the magician's mind-
His ordinary acts are feats
To thinking of mankind.

Thank you Hev for sharing

Thank you Hev for sharing and it is good to know that it is only that you are tpp busy. That I understand all too well!

Thank you also Es for the poem and caring enough to express my concern.

A poem of some meaning:

ONE blessing had I, than the rest
So larger to my eyes
That I stopped gauging, satisfied,
For this enchanted size.

It was the limit of my dream,
The focus of my prayer,—
A perfect, paralyzing bliss
Contented as despair.

I knew no more of want or cold,
Phantasms both become,
For this new value in the soul,
Supremest earthly sum.

The heaven below the heaven above
Obscured with ruddier hue.
Life’s latitude leant over-full;
The judgment perished, too.

Why joys so scantily disburse,
Why Paradise defer,
Why floods are served to us in bowls,—
I speculate no more.

We do not know the time we

We do not know the time we lose—
The awful moment is
And takes its fundamental place
Among the certainties—

A firm appearance still inflates
The card—the chance—the friend—
The spectre of solidities
Whose substances are sand—

Exile Ernest Dowson By the

Exile
Ernest Dowson

By the sad waters of separation
Where we have wandered by divers ways,
I have but the shadow and imitation
Of the old memorial days.

In music I have no consolation,
No roses are pale enough for me;
The sound of the waters of separation
Surpasseth roses and melody.

By the sad waters of separation
Dimly I hear from an hidden place
The sigh of mine ancient adoration:
Hardly can I remember your face.

If you be dead, no proclamation
Sprang to me over the waste, gray sea:
Living, the waters of separation
Sever for ever your soul from me.

No man knoweth our desolation;
Memory pales of the old delight;
While the sad waters of separation
Bear us on the the ultimate night.

Physics is for gurls!

I died for beauty, but was

I died for beauty, but was scarce
Adjusted in the tomb,
When one who died for truth was lain
In an adjoining room.

He questioned softly why I failed?
“For beauty, I replied.
“And I for truth,—the two are one;
We brethren are, he said.

And so, as kinsmen met a night,
We talked between the rooms,
Until the moss had reached our lips,
And covered up our names.

"We must be the change we wish to see."

A WORD is dead When it is

A WORD is dead
When it is said,
Some say.
I say it just
Begins to live
That day.
