FYI I switched that system to run a mix of gamma ray and gravity wave. It’s not pure GW anymore. The RAC needs time to stabilize since it just came off GPUGRID

Ok that's 3 grand just for the cards.  I think I want a NASA salary!

P.S. the Einstein server status shows an ever diminishing queue for GW.  Is something happening?

I see 34,000 Ready to Send. seems ok. that's more than all the others combined.

but even if it's going down, it wouldnt be the first time. even when it was 0, I had no issue getting enough resends to keep the system busy. there's plenty of resends available with all the 2-3GB cards trying to run GW causing a mountain of errors. More than half of all the errored tasks on Einstein are coming from the GW GPU tasks.

I've seen it sat at over 100,000 for the last few weeks, but it's been slowly falling over the last 5 days.  Also the CPU version of GW has run out for a while, I assume they're stopping that?  I thought maybe they were reprogramming the GPU tasks aswell and letting the current ones finish?

And now I just got this:

"Your app_config.xml file refers to an unknown application 'einstein_O2MDF'. Known applications: 'hsgamma_FGRPB1G'"

Something fishy is going on.

Mikey - did you forget to reply?  You just quoted my post without adding anything.

Grin.  Maybe it is encrypted - white on white?

Pah!  Easy to read that by highlighting everything (CTRL-A).  Nothing there.  Either he screwed up or it's a subtle joke that flew over my head.

Anyway, there's a big lot of GW in the queue again.  Hopefully they repaired something to prevent all the failures on smaller cards.

Watching GW GPU tasks on my

Watching GW GPU tasks on my BOINC manager I see a curious thing. Progress rises very rapidly up about 14% in about 3 minutes, then falls back to 0.470 and rises more slowly.

weird stuff happens when you run out of video memory and produce computation errors.

https://einsteinathome.org/host/12735373/tasks/6/0

you should remove this GPU from running GW tasks. these things will continue to happen until you do so. run Gamma Ray on the GPU if you still want to use it for Einstein. If you want to run GW tasks, run it on your CPU, or upgrade to a GPU with at least 4GB of memory.
