Hallo!

Seti@Home is sending out theire last data for crunching and will expire than.

Their Co-inventor David Anderson recommend to support E@H instead [german language].

Let´s hope for a boost!!!

Kind regards an happy crunching

Martin

I think that's a great idea but they will be competing against World Community Grid as they are coming out with a COVID-19 Project. Folding@Home is already doing some work on the virus and has over doubled their normal output. The problem with both of those Projects though is they could be short term while Einstein is here to stay..I hope!!!

Not to worry.  COVID-19 will be followed by something else so these two projects will continue to thrive.

You are correct both Folding and WCG will be around for awhile too, I did not mean that they would go under after their COVID-19 Projects finish.

Former Seti contributor here

Former Seti contributor here and I must say it's quite a different experience at liest that's what my computers say. I will be computing until the summer heat gets too bad or I am unable to secure a good electricity rate contract mines up in two months right now at 8.7c per kwh.

I think science owes a lot to

I think science owes a lot to David Anderson. Even though SETI@H may not find ET, the citizen scientist paradigm he begun with distributed computing has yielded dividends. Especially in areas where most results will be negative and the golden needle in the haystack is sought.

Cheers, Mike.

I have made this letter longer than usual because I lack the time to make it shorter ...

... and my other CPU is a Ryzen 5950X :-) Blaise Pascal
