Nobody will know for sure until Bernd (or another staff member) makes an announcement.
You could speculate that it may just be a way to preserve the 'old' version of the GW app that works fine for CPUs whilst some 'new' or modified app for GPUs is tested. The fact that it's taken this long already gives a pretty good idea that the validation problem for GPU tasks from the last attempt isn't something that's easy to solve.
Of course, it may be something entirely different. I guess we'll find out shortly :-).
We will probably need to update the CPU version in order to be compatible with the results of the GPU version. i.e. ensure successful validation. Workunits already assigned to the old CPU version should, however, be finished with that old version. To ensure this, we need a plan class we can assign the workunit restriction to. The "GWold" 1.01 App is identical to the 1.01, it just has a plan class.
Technical News is where the staff announce new searches, new application versions, etc. There is an ongoing discussion thread in Crunchers' Corner where a number of volunteers are sharing their experiences with exactly that question.
why Gravitational Wave O2 Multi Directional tasks come back to 0% after few procent of computing? That is happening after i turn of and then turn on BOINC again after some time.
The tasks save their work (check point) every once in a while, you're probably not letting it run long enough to get to the first check point. You can check if the task has saved any work by selecting the task, clicking on the properties button and reviewing the value in the line "CPU time since checkpoint". If the "CPU time since checkpoint" is the same as the "CPU time" then nothing has been saved and when you restart the percent complete will be 0.
The servers don't have any WUs left to send. Is this the end of GW tasks or do we get a new batch soon? I really like the O2 tasks for their linear progression as opposed to FRGP5 tasks with warmup and post-processing phases. O2 gets me a constant predictable load on my system. I'm testrunning my new homeserver atm and I really want to see how the O2 tasks are doing.

Can i run more than one of these GPU wu's simultaneously? It looks like my RTX can do alot more than it's doing now.
