Hi everyone. I need your help to upgrade my PC. I'd like to add a GTX 1080 Ti for E@H research but at the moment I have no possibility to do it. If possible, with your help, I can buy one and help you analyzing your data. I have bought an AMD Ryzen 7 1700 but a 1080 Ti is beyond my possibilities. I know this is an orribile request, but with my work I can't do it. :'(

I took about 4 months to

I took about 4 months to build my PC, so for a 1080 Ti I have to wait for about half year.

Instead of asking for others

Instead of asking for others to buy you a 1080ti, just use what you have and then upgrade in the future.

I think any of the active users of E@H could use another 1080ti just as much as you could. If someone has the means to buy another one, they could just use it themselves to benefit the project just as easily as you could.

The only thing I'd like to

The only thing I'd like to add to Joshua's reply is that I'd actively recommend against buying an Nivida card in the near future.  The rumor mill is currently pointing to a September timeframe for the launch of their next generation of cards which should be significantly faster.

I agree with Danneely, if you truly can't afford a 1080ti for another half a year, might as well wait for the next generation which will be more energy efficient and potentially faster, for the same price.
