I use the BAM!-Manager with Windows-PCs. Got this message two days ago:

Einstein@Home: Notice from BOINC
This project is using an old URL. When convenient, remove the project, then add http://einstein.phys.uwm.edu/

On BAM! I deactivate and later remove the PC from the project.
All files and folder where deletet.
Now I reboot the PC, start the BOINC-Manager and I got Einstein twice!
But not from BAM! Why?!
The ComputerID is the same (ID: 11961061). WUs were send.
I could remove the project 2x from Boinc directly, but have to create the projects-folder one time again. Otherwise the manager hangs when trying to delet the second project-entry.

Everytime when I start BOINC I get the project two times again and the message above.
Einstein also created a second PC-Entry. I delete it.
How can I stop this?

I have this problem on a second PC too.

You are attached to this project twice. Please remove projects n

Because I created a backup of file BOINC\account_einstein.phys.uwm.edu in the same folder! Crazy.
If a file exist which start with: account.ein..., BOINC give a message in the logfile at startup:

...48:37 | Einstein@Home | Duplicate account file account_einstein.phys.uwm.edu.xml - ignoring

I test it and create a copy named:
account_einstein.phys.uwm.edu - Kopie.xml
or
account_einstein.phys(Kopie).uwm.edu.xml
ditto
account_einstei(Kopie).phys.uwm.edu.xml

All this filenames lead to a second profile in Boincmanager.

I have noted this

I have noted this Einstein@Home Notice in BOINC for a while now
"You are attached to this project twice. Please remove projects named Einstein@Home, than add http://eistein.phys.uwm.edu/"  but also noted my 'Remove' button under projects was greyed out,
so the project could not be selected in order to follow the given instructions.
The properties of one project instance shows URL http://einsteinathome.org/ and the other shows (the correct) http://eistein.phys.uwm.edu/ but the 'Remove' button under projects is grey for all projects.

I'd wondered if this was because there were tasks yet to be completed so I set "no more tasks" for both URLs.
After the remaining work units had finished, the projects were still not removable from the listing.

I'm Running BOINC 7.2.42(64) under Linux Mint 17.3 on two hosts and both behave the same in this respect.
(also further host running BOINC 7.8.2(64)  under Windows 10, but that does not have this issue,
that one seemed to have managed itself with only the one/correct-URL project attached)

I then looked up and tried a command line detachment in case that might give some message as a clue and got the following,

melvin@frin002 ~ $ boinc --detach_project https://einsteinathome.org

suggesting it could not remove the project because it was not found - but is still in the BOINC list

I further tried logging on to Grid Republic to 'Remove' Einstein@Home from there. When that showed it removed
from the list on GR I then applied 'Add' to the project (though concerned it listed https://einsteinathome.org/ ?)
and it then showed Einstein back in my GR project list - meanwhile though, back at my desktop nothing had changed (after sychronising with GR, from tools menu) - so I am still stuck with the same two attachments.

Please advise.

The only solution I've later

The only solution I've later found to solve it in my case was to 'stop using Grid Republic' (under tools tab), because the Einstein URL at GR had still not been updated from https://einsteinathome.org/  to http://eistein.phys.uwm.edu/ .
The previously greyed 'remove' buttons in the hosts desktop BOINC managers then became active so I could remove the Einstein version that had the old URL, Did that on all 3 hosts yesterday, registered with BAM, then added BAM to each host. However, I was unable to add Einstein and other projects to my BAM project list though as it produced 'invalid password' when clicking on the spyglass icon to 'Find account'. (does not say if that means BAM or each project site password it didn't prompt for, as all are different). I'm putting this new little issue down to my CPID not having yet filtered through to BAM as this shows blank on the main account page (though an FAQ says " It's not a continuous process though. Once an hour all accounts without a CPID are checked. If any of your projects has a CPID then your BAM! account will get one too") as it is not possible to enter your CPID manually.

Yes BAM and GR both have problems with the change from http://...einstein to https://...einstein, if you got it working that's great, but if you don't try adding it thru the Boinc Manager itself instead and not using BAM or GR for this project.

It is all working now Mikey

It is all working now Mikey thank you, with all projects listed under MyProjects on BAM, after I tried changing a project pw to be same as BAM pw I no longer got the eror msg and it was found/listed so did same with the other projects (don't normally reuse a pw and hadn't read anywhere saying they had to be the same to list on BAM).

I don't know but assume alot of people use the same or similar passwords at the different projects, or use a password manager like LastPass to handle it for them.
