Hi! Why am I not getting any

Hi! Why am I not getting any of the FGRP5 tasks? They are allowed in the preferences. Do they need powerful CPUs and my CPU is not powerful enough to crunch them?

Hi. FGRP5 search runs almost on any SSE capable CPU. But you have to reserve enough memory for them. Each instance will eat ~512Mb of RAM. So for 4-core processor you'll need 2 Gb free over a usual working amount.

I run only 3 instances at once with my 32-bit system to have enough memory for other things I do.

Well, I have 2-core CPU and only 1 core is allowed to crunch. And I have 8Gb of RAM installed.

All criteria met I guess. There's something else preventing FGRP5 tasks being sent to me.

Hi! Do both of your computers have the same 'Location' set at their hosts pages? I see the 4-core has been crunching GW-tasks, but the 2-core is crunching GPU tasks only. It might be useful to put those hosts on different 'Locations'. Then you could choose also a different 'Preference set' for each one on the Project preferences page and experiment more freely with the settings.

For the 2-core you could (at least temporarily) set all 'Use GPU' taps to No and leave the 'Use CPU' to Yes. Then at the 'Applications' choose only the "Gamma-ray pulsar search #5" and nothing else. At the 'Other settings' set No for the 'Allow non-preferred apps'. Save changes.

Hit 'Update' for Einstein on the Boinc Manager.

Ps. This problem might fit better on the Cruncher's Corner.

Hi Richie! I've enabled only

Hi Richie! I've enabled only FGRP5 apps for my 4-core but none received. It is said in the log that no app version available.

4-core is my working machine and 2-core is at home.

I'll try to ask on the Problems and Bug Reports.

At least the last few times I

At least the last few times I looked your client didn't request CPU work

https://einsteinathome.org/host/12302254/log:

[send] CPU: req 0.00 sec,

that's why you didn't get any FGRP5 tasks.

Well, the search started in

Well, the search started in August and since the very beginning there were no FGRP5 tasks for me.

Me too, never got a single

Me too, never got a single FGRP5 task with FGRP5 and O1Spot1Lo allowed. I always thought this was intentional because O1Spot1Lo is so far behind Hi. Now I disabled O1Spot1Lo, will see later today if I get any FGRP5 now.

Now they're coming. So it

Now they're coming. So it seems you get 100% O1Spot1 tasks if you accept them.

You're lucky. I have only FGRP5 tasks allowed but still getting O1Spot1 only. Seems that project prefs are ignored for me.
