2005-08-28 14:25:06 [Einstein@Home] Deferring communication with project for 23 hours, 59 minutes, and 58 seconds

Is the message "platform ... not found" the reason for deferring the communication? Or is everything OK and I can simply wait and do nothing?

There is no Solaris/SPARC application for Einstein@Home, this platform is not supported (yet). If you want to wait for it, you'll probably have to wait quite long. If you want to donate your CPU cycles until then, choose a (BOINC) project that already supports the Solaris/SPARC architecture.

Sorry, I did not give enough

Sorry, I did not give enough info.

I'm using Debian 3.1 on this machine. The description on http://www.kulthea.net/boinc/ is written for this hard- and software, isn't it? I compiled the source as described in http://www.kulthea.net/boinc/seti.html (because compiling failed when following the steps in http://www.kulthea.net/boinc/boinc.html), but I did not use the seti client at all.

Ok, my answer also was a bit

Ok, my answer also was a bit unprecise (or incomplete). There is no Einstein@Home Application for the SPARC architecture (yet), neither for Solaris, nor for Linux, nor for Free- or OpenBSD (and what else OS may run on this hardware).

Linux on SPARC is rather uncommon, so you'll probably have to compile not only your own Core Client (which you already did), but also your own Application, which means you are limited to projects which make their source code available (like SETI).
