"Continuous Gravitational Wave Search R" just recently showed up on the Project Preferences page.

It appears currently to have a CPU type restriction.  My attempt to get work was met with a rejection:

CPU model 'Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-6200U CPU @ 2.30GHz [Family 6 Model 78 Stepping 3]' doesn't match '!I3-3225| i[57][- ]| E3[1-]| E8[23456]| E5-1| X5[26]| X5[45]6| X7| G[28]| G64| G32'"

It appears that on the server status page this work is in the O1AS20-100R column.

OK, in the spirit of empiricism, I selected only the "R" work and tried it too.  I got the comparable message for my Haswell.

CPU model 'Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4770 CPU @ 3.40GHz [Family 6 Model 60 Stepping 3]' doesn't match '!I3-3225| i[57][- ]| E3[1-]| E8[23456]| E5-1| X5[26]| X5[45]6| X7| G[28]| G64| G32'

So there is no point selecting it for us.

I got three of these this afternoon on my AMD Phenom II X4 945 at 3.3GHz and one on my Xeon E5-2670v1 at 3.0GHz.

It was enabled by default, but I don't recall seeing an explanation.

(Maybe this should be in a separate topic, since it is not marked "Multi-Directed").

Announcement is here, including distribution explanation.

I see we've used up the current wave of tasks (except for the inevitable re-sends).  Is there another batch of GW tasks coming soon, or will it just be FGRBP tasks for a while?

Probably until we get new

Probably until we get new data from the second run from the improved LIGO

I gradually lowered the default deadline over the last days to 7 days. So re-sends are send out with a tighter deadline. This should counteract the end-of-run straggler effect a bit.

We are currently looking into launching another search using the O1 data targeting another interesting area while we analyze the results of this multi-directed search and wait on data from the currently ongoing second LIGO Observation run.

I again lowered the deadline

I again lowered the deadline for new tasks to 5 days where it will stay until all jobs are finished.
