einstine cause EDF mode

It's probably due to your "connect every" setting. To ensure that the unit can be returned the CC wants you to be able to complete the unit with at least one connect setting to spare.

I would suggest you reduce this value to 1 or 2 days... you'll still get sufficient work and if you're always connected then there is no appreciable difference between the two values.

Yes, but waht happens is that

Yes, but waht happens is that each project will try to d/l 5 days of work, and that would mean that the einstein units would be returned late, would not be accepted by the system and you would get zero credit, none of which sound appealling to me.

What are your resource shares, by the way?

But increasing the number of

But increasing the number of days you d/l for won't let you d/l more than your max number of WU/day (currently at 5 for 1 comp, 2 for the other).

The reason this computer has a reduced d/l rate is because of the 8 d/l errors you had yesterday or today. This one has 3 consecutive client errors. Since the normal max/day is 8 units this makes sense.

Don't worry though, each time you complete a unit successfully your quota doubles (until it reaches 8 again).

But this still doesn't explain why you won't reduce your connect settings. It will prevent the use of EDF mode, and quite honestly I can't think of anything else that would...

[edit] is one of your concerns the fact that you're not getting enough SETI work?[/edit]

Do you currently have any

Do you currently have any SETI units to crunch?

If you don't, you're not alone, on SETI we're going through the units as fast as they're being made... there are currently 11 (yes eleven) units available TOTAL. For 300 000 participants (See here for the server status for SETI).

I understand the frustration, but I really AM trying to help and I'm trying NOT to be dense... I don't know if it's working or not.
