If a binary pulsar during a period in its rotation is aligned like
-----------------------------------
O O            o - earth
-----------------------------------
rather than
-----------------------------------
O
               o - earth
O
-----------------------------------

does the alignment of the binary pulsars increase their pull in the direction of their alignment?

WARNING! DiHydrogen MonOxide kills!

Question about gravity

I think the answer from GR is no, in general the effect the alignment will actually weaken the pull of the more distant pulsar. The reason being that the nearer pulsar scatters the gravity field of the further one. There may be regions where this is not true very close to the nearer pulsar. In a crude way this can be said to be the origin of the gravity waves in this kind of system.

Of course, if you remain under half an hour !
