I have "upgraded" my iMac's OS to OS X 10.11.4. Apparently, Einstein can't find my NVIDIA GPU, however, it found it on the previous OS X version.

I am running all other WUs just fine.

How do I fix this this?

GPU not available?

It used to be that newer versions of OSX did not play well with E@H gpu apps. Something Apple "broke" I believe. See this thread
Don't know if this issue has been resolved lately

Edit: You have a Nvidia GPU so probably not the same problem

Have you updated to the latest NVIDIA drivers and CUDA? I have not updated my NVIDIA machines for fear that this would happen, so it would be great to hear from you.

Now I see that the Mac I

Now I see that the Mac I upgraded to 10.11.4 does not receive GPU tasks for my AMD cards. It appears to be related to the OS version.

OS version required max: 140000, supplied: 150400

Does there need to be a change in the plan class for BRP6-opencl-ati-lion ?

I am doing fine on vanilla

I am doing fine on vanilla 10.11 El Capitan on a Mac Pro with GTX 650 PC-version cards. I did have to download the version-specific nVidia drivers to fix some system instability. This may solve Jim's problem at least:

http://www.macvidcards.com/drivers.html

Be sure to read the bit at the top about getting your build and OSX version number so you get the proper driver.

The CUDA download

The CUDA download worked!

I would have thought the OS X update would have included this.

Apple doesn't give a hoot

Apple doesn't give a hoot about CUDA, it's a competitor to OpenCL, which even now they only halfheartedly maintain, they have no OpenCL drivers greater than v.1.2. They're putting all their hopes on Metal.

FWIW I had a Mac Pro using 10.11.3 and an original ATI 5870 Mac Edition, saw no errors while it ran. Switched in a Sapphire R9 380 and got better results.

I'm told I could even get better than that if I could find a certain resistor block and remove it, as for some arcane reason ATI's PC cards will only run at 2.5 GT/sec when installed in a Mac.

jd, tried rebooting and resetting the project? I have a flashed AMD R9 280X that's crunching GPU WUs just fine under 10.11.4.

Thanks for your suggestion!

I tried the reboot and the reset, but it still won't download BRP6 tasks apparently due to the OS 10.11.4. It had worked fine in 10.11.3....

Maybe try enabling beta

Maybe try enabling beta builds on BRP6? I'm running BRP6-Beta-opencl-ati-lion, Parkes PMPS XT v.1.58...
