For some reason, I have a job that has been showing at 100.000% completed but has continued running for hours even though it only shows that the elapsed time is 03:40:58 (and counting).

Here are the properties of the job:

Application Gamma-ray pulsar search #2 1.04
Workunit Name LATeah0020U_1136.0_43900_0.0
State Running
Received Fri Mar 15 03:45:37 2013
Report Deadline Fri Mar 29 03:45:36 2013
Estimated computation size 15000 GFLOPs
CPU time at last checkpoint 02:33:51
CPU time 02:33:51
Elapsed time 03:40:50
Estimated time remaining ---
Fraction done 100.000%
Virtual memory size 86.77 MB
Working set size 955.63 KB
Directory slots/8
Process ID 248

I don't know what to do with this. Do I let this continue to run? Do I suspend it? Abort?

Thanks!

Continuing Running at 100% Complete

Are other tasks of this kind beeing crunched and beeing finished while this is one is stalled?

If yes, then you should try first suspending the task and then resuming it...
If that doenst work, shutdown BOINC and restart it, prefferably restarting the computer in between.
If that doesnt work then aborting that task may be a good option...

If this is not just an isolated case, then you may have another issue...

I have suspended the task and

I have suspended the task and restarted it, I've restarted BOINC and rebooted my computer, and I've also suspended every other task, but it's still running. The elapsed time has apparently advanced a minute or so then gone back. At one point it was at 03:43:09 and when I just checked a moment ago, it was at 03:40:15. During the time that I've typed this response, the elapsed time decreased once again.

This is the only task where I have had this issue. So far, I have over 34k work units done on the Einstein@Home project, plus have been running 3 other projects.

You can always just abort it and start another task, but one thing to remember is every time you stop and restart Boinc the task reverts back to a 'checkpoint', so the losing time is an expected thing in those cases. Likewise if you do NOT have the unit remain in memory everytime you suspend it it will do the same thing. Also the percentage numbers are an estimate, meaning it could be at 99.995000000000001% and since that rounds to 100%, that is what is displayed.

Do you have the pc set to crunch while it is 'in use'? If not then that too could be affecting your times, as they too are estimates.

How do I check to see if I'm

How do I check to see if I'm "set to crunch while it is 'in use'?"

Thanks!

You can set that in the WEB

You can set that in the WEB and/or in your local settings.

In the WEB you need to go to your account (links at botton of the page) and then to Computing prefferences and you will find the settings for when and how much your computers will be used.

In the Local Settings, you need to open Boinc Manager, and in the advanced view go to the Tools Menu and Computing Prefferences (Im not sure how to reach this options when not in the advanced mode).

Now, bear in mind that the changes in the computing prefferences from the WEB will be applied to your computer the next time it contact the project and this setting is common to all projects, so your computers will take this settings for all the projects from the values set in the last project that you changed.

But the local settings allways override the WEB settings, so if you have used the local settings before, the changes over the WEB settings wont be applied and you need to change that locally (or clear the local settings).
