Ive participated in Seti a few years back with their old system, and now im back at it. Its great that they have other projects going. So I decided to participate in Einstein. I understand what a pulsar is and why were looking/crunching numbers for them. What I dont understand is what Im looking at in the Show Grapics Display. Im in Rainbow Mode. Are the white dots stars/constellations. What is the large orange dot? The Sun? What are the green and blue arrows and all the purple dots? Ive searched through the forum and cant find an answer. If there is a thread addressing it could someone of greater intelligence direct me.

WU Graphics - What Am I Looking At?

Brian --

The three different "L"s (blue, green & red) mark the three different observatorys around the world ... blue for Hanford, WA; green for Livingston, LA; red for Hanover, Germany. The orange circle indicates where the information being processed came from. If one drew a straight line from the center of the Earth through each observatory, they would hit the inside of the sphere as shown. That defines the the exact rotational azimuth and clestial location of the Earth at the time the data was recorded

The dark red dots indicate remnants of supernovas and the purple dots are known pulsars.

Hope this helps.....

OceanArcher, Tks for the

OceanArcher,

Tks for the reply. Now I know what Im looking at. It sure would be nice if there was more activity on the graphics screen, like the Seti@home. Its sort of boring. Anyway Ill look at more threads and check out the links to places of interest that people post too learn more about it all.

Again, Tks, Brian
