I have noticed a curious thing about my Einstein@home standings on BOINCstats.com. I was quite happily crunching units and gradually climbing up the world placing until about the 20th February, ever since I have been dropping like a stone. Does anyone know what happened that day, ie high profile Einstein@home publicity, another project going into extended hiatus. I'm just curious...

World stats position stuff

Hello david,

it was the time of the troubles over @Seti, and a lot of them came over here for a backup project.

I think most of them stayed, as it's in the same area (space...) as Seti, not like climate or protein.

Look at the front page of einstein news page;

Feb 19, 2005
Einstein@Home was officially launched this morning at the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) meeting in Washington, DC, USA.

Feb 14, 2005
For testing purposes, in anticipation of our public launch, we will be enabling account creation for some unannounced periods this week. If you are interested in joining Einstein@Home, please try the Create Account link.

Hi David,
I joined on 24 Feb. It was based on the news reporting: "Feb 19, 2005
Einstein@Home was officially launched this morning at the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) meeting in Washington, DC, USA." I suspect that a number of people saw that as I did and joined.

Looking at your stats (assmuming I got the right ones ... though I am curious why you have Predictor@Home assigned to the USA when all other projects are UK, but I digress ...) you are rising in world stats, but you are falling in Einstein@Home most likely because you are not spending as much time here as others.

I have my settings even to all 5 projects, but for SETI@Home for example I am falling in position because I also support 4 other projects, and it is likely that many SETI@Home participants are still concentrating there ...
