Yep, just what I wanted to

Yep, just what I wanted to add. My Kubuntu uses a 2.6.20 kernel and I got validation probs with Windows 2k nevertheless. You guys might want to check out the thread about "Windows app 4.23 beta testing", Bernd Machenschalk makes some informative statements about those validation issues there.

Same here, I have not received any credit for this. Reporting after a long rund well enough before due date.

This is very much disappointing, e.g. considering, that this is taking a fast amount of the free CPU time. This will scare some people away from the project.

There has been considerable progress converning the cross-platform-validation problem recently, on several fronts:

* A new validator was installed recently, you may have missed that one only by a couple of hours

* Several changes have been made to the clients that (among other fixes) will make results computed on different platforms more similar. Some of those fixes are currently tested in teh beta-test apps and should soon be released as regular apps.

As a result of this, the number of invalid results was reduced drastically, so it's much more fun to crunch for Einstein@home now as compared to a few weeks back.
