Since the problem is that I'm not getting any WUs (and so don't have any at all), I'll try resetting first. I don't like having caches for several days in the future because I think it's silly to have a task sitting on my computer and not being processed for several days when someone else could actually be actively processing it.

I wasn't aware that there was an optimization program for Einstein. I have two or three of them for SETI but none for E.

Einstein doesn't have a special optimized program. The Standard app for E@H (Windows anyway, I don't run Linux here anymore) actually has 3 different versions and a 'switcher' program as well. The switcher program examines your cpu to see what instructions it is capable of running and then selects the highest/fastest level app to run.

Seti Classic Final Total: 11446 WU.

It sounds very much like you weren't completely stopping BOINC before editing the debt values. You shouldn't attempt to edit the state file while BOINC is still running. Be aware of the differences between BOINC Manager and BOINC. Stopping BOINC Manager may not necessarily stop BOINC itself. I'm guessing that you stopped BOINC Manager, edited the state file and then started BOINC Manager and that BOINC itself was running the whole time. This would explain why your change wasn't permanent.

Cheers,
Gary.

Try to select "Shut down connected client..." from the manager's "Advanced" menu and then "Exit" from the "File" menu.

Thanks for all the input. I

Thanks for all the input. I just reset it about 6 times, which cut the difference down to about 10 hours and waited the rest out. Now I've got tons of projects and I'm getting through them in about 3-4 hours each.
