using the gnu make together with boinc

I have a problem with compilation using the GNU make when the BOINC project is run. Even though BOINC project is run with idle priority it takes almost whole CPU resorces and make couldn't get CPU time to perform compilation. I have installed BOINC under the Windows2K system.
