Unsent is what it says for a credit I've been waiting for...how could this be?

I thought I lost my credits on this one, but they sent it to another computer. It's the first time I saw this happen firsthand...

"Unsent"

LOL...

It's not all that unusual for that to happen, if you look at the details of your hosts tasks. You just don't see it when you pop in to check out the big picture. ;-)

I don't understand why this

I don't understand why this task wasn't sent to anybody else, and if it wasn't, why is it still "pending"? It's not as though they're waiting for someone to complete the thing if it's not sent, and it wasn't a "no response" or "error." It was NEVER sent to anyone but me. Strange. Does this happen often? Why?

My question is, do I lose the credit? Or other question is, what are they waiting for?

That's one of the new Gravitational Wave S6 Directed Search (CasA) workunits. There were found to be problems with some of them and no more are being sent until a fix is found. See this thread. I'm in the same position myself. The only thing to do is wait. Hopefully the already completed workunits will eventually be sent to other computers to confirm our results.

That's part of it, the other

That's part of it, the other part is this is a new science run so there just aren't that many hosts which have the required datapacks yet.

Given the problems they found with some of the mirrored datapacks, I would imagine they will make some allowance for that WRT deadline issues for the work already in the field. However, there's always the chance any task already in the field may get caught up in the datapack problem and not be able to validate.

So it's probably a good idea to keep an eye out for updates on the status for the new GW run.

We'll need to restart the run

We'll need to restart the run with new, fixed data files. The old, partially broken files were already removed from the download mirrors to make room for the new, fixed ones. I can hardly think of a way to get the unsent task that reference these files processed; I'm afraid we have to cancel these WUs. I'm still hesitating, though, maybe something comes to my mind in the next few days.

OK, 'Scottie'....

So the question now is, should we preemptively abort the new GW run tasks, or hold off and give you a chance to pull a miracle out of your hat? ;-)

I have a rough idea, I'm just looking for a way to implement it with reasonable effort for the ~3000 affected WUs. I'm currently digging through ~14,000 WUs that can safely be canceled (e.g. have two unsent tasks).

If yours already finished, there is no gain from aborting. If not started yet, there is no loss from aborting, so you may do so. If currently in progress, consider suspending them until we have a final decision.

I found a way to properly

I found a way to properly finish the S6CasA WUs that have been in limbo for a couple of days. The remaining ~3500 results are being sent now, the download URLs should point to albert where the old download files are still there.

I see where you got somebody

I see where you got somebody to work on my "unsent" task..

Thank you. I am normally not so impatient, but have been trying to get to 100,000 and the only tasks I get any crdit for are only 60 points...

This will help.

Much appreciated...http://einsteinathome.org/workunit/170187420

Ever since I complained about

Ever since I complained about getting only 60 points for tasks, somebody with some pull has scheduled my old computer with long and pointheavy tasks...

Thank you so much.

Why do I enjoy this stuff so much?
