The easiest way is to just have patience and let Boinc sort it out using your resource share and cache settings. The more projects you are attached to, the longer it may take for Boinc to get a WU from a project. If the number is highly negative as it has processed more than its allotted resource share (panic mode).

My understanding of the new scheduler and cache setting is it's a total of all projects vs individual projects and your resource setting for each project. If you are attached to multiple projects and those projects aren't producing work, having network problems and you have no work to crunch, it will get work for a negative debt project just to keep you running.

The way that it got to be a negative number was by doing work. The LT debts for all projects are maintained so that the mean is 0 at all times. The easiest way of getting it to be positive is to have some other project doing work for a while.

Up until I upgraded all four Projects switched back and forth every hour. All Four projects were doing work. It has now been a week of the other projects doing what they always have and I still can not get an Einstein WU.

I will ask this again.. What do I need to do to get this working as it once did?

My resource settings are what they have always been 100 for each project.

CDPN = 2032.663907
Einstein = -24871.931887
Protein = 18055.590091
SETI = 3126.824998

It will probably never work as it once did. I believe this new scheduler is the new world order...

It especially sucks if you're on dial up. :(

From your LTD numbers though, your other projects still have some catching up to do, so you won't see any E@H for a little while yet.

You will have to uninstall your current version of the BOINC core client and revert back to an earlier version. The new scheduler behaves very differently than anything before v4.4x. Some like it, some don't, which is why that v4.19 is still listed as available on the BOINC download page.

Looks like you have another day+ to go (~7 hrs debt) before Einstein gets it's chance. Each of your projects should then run about 6 hours each day unless a unit return goes into panic mode.

Patience is all you need to let the resource share balance out.

If you can't wait it out you can try resetting Einstein since it has no work. That should zero out the negative debt and let it get its 6 hour process time sooner.

Patients are for doctors... Now everything is happy.. The reset did it.
