Topic 188938

I am planning to do some traveling in the next few months that will require me to leave my computer (which is otherwise always on) off for a week or more at a time.
Is there a way to get BOINC to not take on any new work, so I don't end up not being able to complete work already downloaded?
If I just shut down the computer and let the work units expire, is this going to create probelms when I log back on?

Thanks!

Stopping a computer for a while

Hello Tim,

put your Cache to 0 days and the HD-use to 0GB.
This will finish al the WUs on your machine, and nothing new will be downloaded.

If you have BOINC 4.25, you can install BOINCView and there is an option per project to disable downloads.

This feature is comming in BOINC itself. It was partly implemented in 4.25, but the UI did not make it.

Sorry, my crystal ball is broken at the moment. If you are in a hurry, I would suggest BOINC View.
