I have added a second computer to E@H, but in the couple of hours since enrolling it, it has not been given any work. It shows up in my account as a second computer with a unique ID, etc. Is this normal?

Second computer is not being given any work

If you read the Technical Forums, they have had issues the last approximately 24 hours and now that they have started getting some of it back online, so many people are hitting the servers they are busy. Please give it time to calm back down and get back to normal.

This problem has nothing to

This problem has nothing to do with the current upload problems.

The problem is that the second computer does not have enough RAM to run the tasks.
In the scheduler logs these messages can be seen:

...

So if it's possible to install more RAM you should be able to use this computer otherwise you out of luck. =(

One more thing: Is this type of information available to me, either on the machine, or via the web?

As Holmis mentioned, it comes from the scheduler logs for the particular host.

Go to your account page, click the 'view computers' link and click the 'Last contact' link for the computer whose scheduler log you wish to view. It's the relevant date in the right-most column in the list of your computers.

Cheers,
Gary.
