Hello everybody,

few days ago I had a major problem with my RaspberryPI board, I lost all data in the SD card and I had to create a new SD.

Then I reinstalled BOINC and attach to einstain project. It worked I was assigned tasks. I then checked my account info and

it turned out that I have 2 computers, both raspberrypi with 2 different ID. Now I think that when the second setup of the same board

joined the project it was assigned a new ID. The problem is that the old raspberri no longer exists but it has credits and tasks assigned.

What am I supposed to do? Is there a way to merge the 2 computers (I saw this option on the SETI project), how can I free the tasks assigned to the old computer or have them reassigned to the new one?.

Thanks for the support.

Yes you should be able to

Yes you should be able to merge the two together.

Click on "Account" in the top navigation bar, then on the dashboard you should have a list of computers and below that there should be a link "More", click that to get a list of all computers assigned to your account. Then pick one of the two you want to merge and click on the "Details" link. At the bottom of that page there will be a "Merge" link.

Ty Holmis. I think i misanderstood the merge direction.... I merged the old into the new computer. Now I have the old computer ID on the server and in the client_state.xml on the raspberry the new ID. Can this situation work? Can I change the hostid by hand in the client_state.xml file or it is protected by some sort of checksum?

Thanks again.

As long as there's no bug in

As long as there's no bug in the new website the merge process should merge the two IDs into the newest.

Try to manually update Einstein in Boinc on the RPi (projects tab, highlight Einstein@home, click the "Update" button on the right), either all will be good or a new ID will be generated.
If a new ID is generated then there's a bug in the merge process and we will have to bring this to the attention of the project admins.

Hi Holmis, I checked the

Hi Holmis, I checked the server because some tasks finished and the server created a new ID. I updated the project in the BOINC client of the raspberry and the hostid in the xml changed to the new one. So I had again 2 computers in the server but then I merged them correctly this time. Now I have only one computer on the server with the same ID listed in the xml file of the raspberry. I think I am back on track now. I wait for some other task to finish to double check the server and see if no more ID are generated.

Thanks for the support, really appreciated.

Task finished, it was

Task finished, it was reported correctly with no new ID created. Now I think the server and the client are aligned.

I also found that the task assigned to the firs ID have been marked as lost and reassigned to the new ID, the PI is processing them right now.
