RE: Two weeks ago when SETI

Two weeks ago when SETI was having huge DataBase issues, I moved 7 of my 8 computers over to crunch for Einstein exclusively (the eighth machine resides elsewhere, and since it still had workunits for Seti, might as well leave it).

It is interesting to watch the migratory patterns of the DC individual in the wild, join me next week along with Carl Perkins. . .

Sparky

PS 99.6 days to go.

Hehe I let my hosts do the migrating automatically but it is still neat watching them when they do it.

The status page now says total time to complete search will be 199.7 days.

Wonder what the actual time will be when we DO complete the search.

I am guessing it will go faster with the new app being used by more people, who are devoting additional resources to the project because of that (myself included). So I am guessing perhaps like the end of June....? :)

really? You think the end of June? I'm thinking the end of may. I, like many others I suspect, have increased resource share for my 1 lonely machine to 100% thanks to akosf's and others optimizations, see ya later S4...

Edit: I just went over 10K credits yesterday...that's awesome!!

As of today, the status page estimates 73.6 days to completion. That works out to early July finish. I think second half of June is a pretty good guess.

I would also guess end of may if the optimized client won't be released until then. The floating point speed is steadily increasing while the number of active hosts stays more or less equal. (Thanks akos! :-)

I also have joined the group

I also have joined the group of migratory hosts in the last few weeks thanks to the optimized clients :) However my 4 machines have been all over many projects but plan on keeping here at Einstein as long as the credit stays good. And as I have said b4 in posts there are many worthy projects out there to donate to....Credit does become an issue with many users and I have been chomping at the bit to finally contribute to Einstein substantially...Thank-you Bruce and the team for allowing the optimized...Happy Crunching to all and lets start S5 sooner than July :)

I would be curious to know

I would be curious to know the number or the % of crunchers using the optimized clients.

60 days left as of May 2. That puts us borderline end of June/early July. If the current rate of decrease continues, I expect we will finish June 28-30 timeframe.

Going from you're previous post we have done 13.6 days work in last 10 days so without any further speed-up, by more users and/or more using optimised app we should finish in 45 days, 16 June.
