And it is also a true statement that we very much appreciate every CPU cycle you can spare. When I was a grad student, the all-sky pulsar search was considered absolutely hopeless. Now we are actually doing it, at some non-ridiculous fraction of the instrumental limit, and it would not be happening without you.

Thank you very much,
Ben

Well, how can I switch off my machines now? ;-)
But being honest, the electricity costs at the moment are mounting to something like 500 EUR extra and that is quite some bit. Let's just hope the utility companies generated the energy from renewable sources like wind and sunlight.

I now get all of my electricity from either wind or water. But it is not cheap. About $0.15 per kWh

That's about 0.12 euro/kWh. In Italy we pay 0.15 euro/kwh plus a 20% VAT for electricity coming from mainly gas- and coal-fired power stations. You are lucky.

In Slovakia 0.12 euro/kWh +

In Slovakia 0.12 euro/kWh + 19% VAT, mainly coal, nuclear and water power plants.

$0.10 per kWh here in

$0.10 per kWh here in lithuania and we get it all from Ignalina nuclear power plant which EU demanded to close in 2009. I don't know if i will participate in any DC project after that cause electricity bills will skyrocket (still no power bridge with EU via Poland) and i'll start saving on it

Have shifted some of my SETI

Have shifted some of my SETI machines to Einstein. Also will be pulling online 4 to 6 more machines for Einstein, as soon as I get them together.
See if we can help make a quicker dent in the days left.

Two weeks ago when SETI was

Two weeks ago when SETI was having huge DataBase issues, I moved 7 of my 8 computers over to crunch for Einstein exclusively (the eighth machine resides elsewhere, and since it still had workunits for Seti, might as well leave it).

It is interesting to watch the migratory patterns of the DC individual in the wild, join me next week along with Carl Perkins. . .
