Hello,

I am successfully crunching Binary Radio Pulsar workunits with my integrated Intel graphics card HD 530, but when I process Gamma-ray pulsar workunits my system becomes laggy so I wonder if there´s a way to limit the graphics card portion used for those workunits so I can work with my host normally?

If you go into your account,

If you go into your account, preferences, project, in the applications section you could unselect what is below Binary Radio Pulsar Search.

Another idea is to not use that internal Intel GPU or even not run CPU tasks at all but to install a discrete graphics card. If, for example, you can get an AMD RX560 or even RX570 or similar you could run your system a lot more efficiently.  :-)

Thanks but I would like to

Thanks but I would like to crunch some Gamma-ray workunits, and buying a discrete card is not an option.

So unless there´s no other option to optimize my graphics card for gamma-ray work I would like to try to run them somehow.

The Intel GPU will slow down

The Intel GPU will slow down all your CPU work units. I used to use iGPUs to crunch but the performance hit makes it worse than using the CPU on its own. Don‘t take my word for it - run a test. Run some work with the iGPU and then run the same work mix using just the CPU and compare the amount of work done for each test.

Asa said in my initial post I

Asa said in my initial post I can run BRP workunits just fine on my iGPU without slowing down my PC or other workunits. It´s only with the GRP iGPU app that my system becomes unstable.

I am fine not using that app but would like to know if it´s really no other solution.

I have now deselcted all

I have now deselcted all Gamma-ray applications in my preferences but now I am still receiving Gamma-ray iGPU workunits. I don´t know how to stop that behaviour. It was all very fine some days before when I was only getting Binary iGPU workunits. Am I missing something?

In your account, preferences,

In your account, preferences, project, you could test setting "use Intel GPU" to No, plus "Allow non-preferred apps" to No as well.

I figured it out, my mistake,

I figured it out, my mistake, I only changed the generic settings but not the "work" settings which are linked to my host. Sorry for the hassle.
