It should "unstuff" into two files; seti@home-G4-a5 and app_info.xml (for the G4 version, G5 if G5...). Set "no new work" for SETI and let it run out of work. Then simply place both of the files in:
Library/Application Support/BOINC Data/projects/setiathome.berkeley.edu/

That's it! When you restart BOINC, it will use the new application and your SETI times will be cut in half. :-)

(Of course, I have to say that I prefer the Einstein method; _they_ Altivec-optimized the app, it downloaded automatically...)

Both the Albert app and the one immediately prior to it (4.82) are Altivec optimized.
