Hi!

in contrast to climateprediction.net, einstein@home won't run stable on my Linux boxes.

Last error: "process exited with code 2 (0x2)".

How can i track down the source of this error?

Strange. I get this error

Message 6980 in response to message 6979

Strange. I get this error again and again.

I cleand my BOINC directory completely. Installed from scratch. And i still get this polka error.

1) There definitely IS a file named polka.out in /slots/0/

2) Whats the use of this file?

I think this might be the problem. The application WRITES this file. I think in your case this file might not be writeable any more. Try stopping E@H and deleting polka.out, then restarting E@H.

Are you running BOINC on a

Are you running BOINC on a shared file system (NFS etc.)?
What's the contents of the file polka.out in the slots/0 directory? It should be a text file containing a single line like ... that referrs to a file in the project directory. Is this file there and writable?
