Greetings!

It looks like my Uploads time out on a retry.
I was able to send reports after 5 or 6 manual retries.
The Boinc version is 5.4.11.
It took several manual tries to get a result sent.
But, it finally was sent and ack'ed....

Other: did bandwidth test OrlandoMiami
download: 1575 Kbps
upload: 256 Kbps

My msg log looked like:

Problem sending results

Make sure you allowed BOINC to pass through your firewall or proxy.

It needs to be able to upload on TCP port 80.

Hi,
I think the firewall is OK.... port 80 was allowed.
And the data was eventually sent..

Another interesting data.
A project with large data to upload, WCG-faah can upload 5 meg without a problem.
But I have also had the same upload problem to BOINC-SIMAP - which has smaller data to upload.

Thanks for all of the help!!

Please let BOINC do the work.

Please let BOINC do the work. The update button is not needed, nor is the retry buttons, most of the time. The work will eventually upload and report on it's own. If there is small server outages, it backs off for a little while as not to pound the project with request, causing other issues.

Einstein doesn't appear to accept current results.
Other projects all upload ok. Have tried for several days now.

Uploads still

Message 61575 in response to message 61574

Uploads still bogus.

h1_0634.5_S5R1__5527_S5RIa_0_0
h1_0547.0_S5R1__1361_S5RIa_2_0

File lengths in the region of 119k but uploads have taken 35 and 44 minutes to get 80% and 55% respectively and are having trouble getting any further

4/3/2007 8:59:05 a.m.|Einstein@Home|[file_xfer] Temporarily failed upload of h1_0547.0_S5R1__1361_S5RIa_2_0: can't resolve hostname

These seem to be the major issues. I have put through over 10Mb to other BOINC projects this morning some via 1 isp some via another so I know it's not my system/setup.

I see this thread has been left hanging for 6 days as well.
Lets see some resolution or the project gets tossed from my queue (after 14000+ credits.) No point having a nice setup and people crunching the data if there's no way to get it back properly. A bit of decent support would be good thanks.

Make a cc_config.xml file in

Make a cc_config.xml file in your BOINC directory and add at least these flags:

1
1

You can check in this FAQ how to make a cc_config.xml file and which flags are possible.

Let BOINC run with the cc_config file (either exit BOINC and restart it, or go Advanced, read config file) and post the full log of it here. To try to upload immediately, not waiting for the deferral to end, go Advanced, retry communications.

Thanks.

I'll give that a go. I'll have to wait for some fresh unit to complete (ie tomorrow) as I finally pounded those units through after 10+ retries. I that makes everyones' traffic hard to get through but it did prove that they are actually being sent.

Add me to the people unable

Add me to the people unable to send results. Its an Einstein only problem and my computers are starving for work as well. Ive had to switch my 3 dedicated machines off Einstein only until its resolves. Hope a solution comes soon as all 3 machines were reporting before this and still maintain contact with other projects so unless something is off on Einsteins end or something has changed server side.....

Message 61579 in response to message 61577

Ok. Tried the cc_ thing. It just swamped my messages with "no need to connect". I took out that statement (zero'd first then removed) and that disabled all sending.

However now all the packets are zooming through nicely (disabled cc_). No other changes of note at this end, It seemed to have cleared up about 1-2 days ago.

I hope it's not a spurious event.

THanx for the help.
