I belong to several websites, including BOINC, but one that I receive an occasional email from is from one of my favorite beverages - Jack Daniel's.  When reviewing the last email I received from JD, they asked if I wanted to sign up for their website's email list (which I thought I was on already).  So, to be sure that I was going to stay on their list, I signed up again.  In doing so, a window pops up which said: "Cookies and Related Technologies on This Site".  The pop-up window gave me choices of which cookies I would receive (there were only three).  There was actually a link at the bottom of the page that referred to its Cookie Policy.

I was surprised... I never thought of 'cookies' as being multiples of the cookie format, or that I had choices of which ones to accept or deny.  I'll start looking around at other websites for a "cookie policy" and see what they might say.

For those that may be in other parts of the world, there is a 'language' choice option at the top of the page with a drop down menu of 22 different languages.

Later...
