As announced Pirates@Home ceased operating on schedule sometime between 1602 and 1702 UTC today, 24 June 2005.

My client was connecting every hour, got a 'no work' reply at 1602 UTC then no contact at 1702, 1802, 1902

The servers were running till almost the last minute - at 1146 I got a new (new to me) app downloaded and crunched my last four piraqte wu's, uploading them at 1351 less than six hours before

THE END

Fond memories may be posted here...

Great work by it's crew - it

Great work by it's crew - it would have taken my primary cruncher 4.29 years (estimated, working only Pirates non-stop 24/7) to complete all work done on Pirates@home

hi Ulrich - I thought the definite end deserves a thread of its own. I'm glad you linked them together though.
