Participant search

The participant search engine is inadequate. It won't locate user names that contain the search phrase if the search phrase is located elsewhere than at the start of a user ID. If the search engine is going to be so primitive, it would be useful to allow changes of user ID and to encourage people who use their actual name to put last name first.
