Well I'm backer #90 and thus far I don't seem to be on the list for this round of shipping. But if there's heat issues, they might be sorted in time for me ! :-)

I note that those FLIR photos only have the Zynq/ARM radiating, the Epiphany ( it's just to the right side I reckon ) seems to be cold ie. not operating. If so, that begs the question of what extra cooling might be required if both are active simultaneously. Thus I will have a think about what might be done ...

Cheers, Mike.

I have made this letter longer than usual because I lack the time to make it shorter ...

Indeed the heating issue is under discussion.

They did say they were doing the large dollar backers first and once they have been shipped they will move into the rest in backer number order.

I'm in the 3580's so looks like I won't be getting mine any time soon. I was hoping by Australia Day.

I see the recommended approach is to put heatsinks on both and use a fan which makes the case rather useless.

.... and maybe a few more weeks too. It's been stuck in New Jersey for six days and I don't think will emerge any time soon.

Cheers, Mike.

I guess you could run it without a heat sink there at the moment ;-).

Cheers

Absolutely ! :-)

It's now in New York. So I might read, say, Odysseus while I wait. :-)

Cheers, Mike.

Cleared Melbourne customs

Cleared Melbourne customs this morning, so ~ 50 miles away now.

[ If I could I would export some heat to North America - and any else that wants it for that matter - 'cos it's 44 degrees C in the shade on my back porch right now ! No smoke in the wind nor within sight either!! :-) ]

Cheers, Mike.

And most of us in the US would love the heat, but once you turn it on can we turn it back off again? Or are we stuck with it forever? If the latter you can keep it, but thanks for the offer.

I am glad to hear the fires are not coming yet and that you are home again!!
