I will make a code to Bernd

I will make a code to Bernd that will switch between different instruction sets, but i don't work on newer modifications. I don't have enough time, but i examined the code of some other projects (SIMAP, QMC, SETI, SZTAKI). They are all good for optimization. SIMAP is optimised (+50% on my Sempron) and QMC is good for 30-100%, SETI for 20% and SZTAKI for at least 500-600%.

have you look at the x264

have you look at the x264 codec sourcecode that need also to be optimised ? If think it might be very difficult to optimise it.
It might be a chalange to find code able to be optimized.

Nice project.

There are lot of possibilities for optimization.
Probably their compiler didn't optimize for speed.

What they really need is someone to work on checkpoints.

Veri nice Akos and thank a lot for your work again,

can we test your optimalisation of these projects? My focus is on SIMAP.

You can download the optimised SIMAP code from the messageboard of the project.

Dave Burbank, et al.

Message 27805 in response to message 27763

Dave Burbank, et al.

Looks like through some miracle of His High Holy Noodliness I finally got the optimized app working. Thanks, people!

Now, Dave. You told me once I got that done to come back here so you could guide me through installing the boinc calibrating thing so the credit claims are not too low.

Here I am! :-)
edit--will this boinc calibrating app negatively effect any other projects I run or does it only affect Einstein?
Any help on this from anyone? Greatly appreciated.

----------------------------------------------------

2nd order of business. I have 2 more machines I want to optimize tonight now that I'm feeling lucky. One is a 2.4 gig Celeron 512 ram. runs winxp sp2.

Other machine is 500mhz celeron 256 ram running win ME.

Is the optimized app I just downloaded for athlon 3200+ winxp sp2 the same for these other 2 machines? If so I should be able to handle that in a snap.

Thanks in advance everyone.

Wow....that thing sure does fly!
