Rather than hijack the other thread, I'll start a new one.

I have 2 2500+ running as 3200+ and 2 real 3200+ cpus. I can't see any real difference. The FSB increase will work even if the cpu is locked, as you're not changing the multiplier.

Hi Terry, i'm back

The problem (if problem) is the Barton 2500+ runs Einstein but also Predictor, Seti, SetiBeta, Sztaki and i have no idea what will happen with these projects if i overclock the cpu.

If you're worried about if an overclock would adversely affect your stability get prime95 and run it in torture test mode for a 24 hours with each of the standard tests. If you're dual proc/core/HT run one copy per core and set the affinities to have each independent, then adjust the blend tests memory size down to avoid using any swapspace.

The P95 torturetests don't do any science to risk screwing up, but will stress your CPU out to it's maximum levels. IT repeatedly runs the same calculations in a loop and errors if any of the results are different. If it runs without erroring out your OC is stable.
