It's all just a matter of priorities, and since the Mac OS Intel GPU population is comparatively small it's not the highest :-) The fact that we don't have any test boxes sporting HD 4000 or Iris Pro GPUs doesn't make the whole effort easier.
Bottom line: we intend to support Intel GPUs on OS X as soon as we get the chance, yet without a definite release date. However, that doesn't mean a release on albert is necessarily months away...

Update: NVIDIA just released a new CUDA driver for OSX which reportedly supports the sm_1x GPU architecture on 10.9/Mavericks again!
I haven't yet tested that myself...
