RE: We also don't yet

We also don't yet support OpenCL on Intel GPUs on OSX, but we plan to so shortly.

It's been weeks, so do I take it right that "shortly" means months?

Please, advise.

Hi Augustine, It's all

Hi Augustine,

It's all just a matter of priorities, and since the Mac OS Intel GPU population is comparatively small it's not the highest :-) The fact that we don't have any test boxes sporting HD 4000 or Iris Pro GPUs doesn't make the whole effort easier.

Bottom line: we intend to support Intel GPUs on OS X as soon as we get the chance, yet without a definite release date. However, that doesn't mean a release on albert is necessarily months away...

HTH,
Oliver

Collatz released the OpenCL

Collatz released the OpenCL app for OSX by just renaming it to include "intel", as you can see at http://bit.ly/1ej6lMm.

Thanks for the info, but this

Thanks for the info, but this is not about how to do it but to ensure the app is working correctly before we deploy it in production :-)

Best,

RE: To conclude: to get

Quote:

To conclude: to get CUDA 5.5 working on MacBook Pros with OSX 10.9 Mavericks you need to:
  • * Install the latest CUDA driver from NVIDIA (CUDA not supported by stock driver shipped by Apple)
    * Install the latest BOINC client software
    *
For the time being: use a > sm_1x GPU (Fermi and newer) until NVIDIA releases a driver update to support older GPUs again

Update: NVIDIA just released a new CUDA driver for OSX which reportedly supports the sm_1x GPU architecture on 10.9/Mavericks again!

I haven't yet tested that myself...

Best,
Oliver
