Maybe this WU would be off

Maybe this WU would be off interest.

My result with the Beta app is OK, but there is 2 results with the standard app 4.02 with Client errors.

Then you're really interested in a subject, there is no way to avoid it. You have to read the Manual.

RE: Is "Found app_info.xml;

Is "Found app_info.xml; using anonymous platform" in your messages? It should show up in the group of messages written right after restarting BOINC. If it's not there, something went wrong.

It is there.

I have figuered out what must have been wrong.

I've had Einstein on "no new work" for several weeks, so boinc left the einstein project folder alone. So I have unzipped the beta-files in the Einstein project folder without shutting down boinc. And I set Einstein on "allow new work" without restarting boinc.

It is not enough to read the fine manual, one has to do what the manual tells to do.

Now all looks fine.

Greetings, Groundhog

First result (a long WU) with 4.24 beta completed successfully, but is still awaiting validation. Completion time on my Athlon MP 2000+ (dual CPU) was just over 8 hours, compared to just over 12 hours with 4.02. Nice work!

Just thought I'd post an update. The above result has validated successfully, as has this one. Crunch time reduction is holding at ~33%.

I just switched over a P3/500 machine that's doing short WUs in about 5:40. I'll report results as soon as it completes some WUs.

Two results completed successfully on the P3/500 box: this one is awaiting validation, this one has validated. Crunch time for both WUs was ~4:20, for a 24% reduction.

Just installed 4.24, but when I look in the boinc manager, the version that's listed as running is 4.02. Is this normal?

Did you install bonic manager as system service?
