I'm running BOINC 4.19 over Redhat Enterprise Workstation 3.0 (kernel 2.4.21-27.0.2). The box is a PIII 800 MHz with 512 MB RAM and is unused 99% of the time.
I'm seeing this message in the logs:
2005-03-01 10:59:51 [---] Insufficient work; requesting more
2005-03-01 10:59:51 [Einstein@Home] Requesting 70 seconds of work

What does it mean? I have another Redhat box that's a PIII 1 GHz having no problems. I'm using the default preferences, except I told it to keep pre-empted apps in memory. There is nothing wrong with the network/internet connection on the box either.

Sorry, forgot to mention the first time this happened, I deleted everything but the BOINC executable. Then ran it and allowed it to re-download everything again. Hasn't helped. I'll try downloading a new exec again, just in case.

Sorry, I didn't realize the FAQ had been completed (oops!)
None of the points in the FAQ seem to apply to my situation. This is the current rpc_seqno and hostid:
1
49237
I verified that there is only one Einstein pc_seqno and hostid, and no more. I also don't have more than one account_einstein.phys.uwm.edu.xml. I'm not using a proxy either.
I'm going to follow the recommendations, and stop BOINC, remove the account_einstein*.xml files and try a devel version of the BOINC client to see what happens.
Also, thanks Bruce for your direct participation in the message boards and feedback!
