Hello.
I am running E@H on a SuSE9.2 box, and it completed the job that was sent, or so it claims. I ran the Linux script utility from the downloads page, and it tells me that it finished, and uploaded the results. However the command window which is displaying the E@H says that is is deffering communication with project for 24hrs. I found a message board that says that the configuration will do something like that if it is set to .1 days, mine is set to 2 days.
I tried restarting E@H with the following commands:
./boinc_4.19_i686-pc-linux-gnu -return_results_immediately
./boinc_4.19_i686-pc-linux-gnu -update_prefs http://einstein.phys.uwm.edu
and lastly I tried
./boinc_4.19_i686-pc-linux-gnu -return_results_immediately -update_prefs http://einstein.phys.uwm.edu
nothing seems to change. It still says its deferring for a very long time. Any thoughts on what else I should do?
Thanx guys,

If you stop the program and open the client_state.xml file with a text editor you can override the deferral. Find the line that references min_rpc_time and change the number on that line to 0. When you restart boinc, it will connect immediately.

Look in sched_response.xml for the work 'message'. There should be a message that says why you are not getting work. If the BOINC client is not echoing this message on your screen, please tell me: it points to an error in the client.
It looks to me like something has gone wrong in your installation, since the most recent request that you system sent had the wrong RPC number (0). Something will appear in a few minutes in the FAQ: search for the word 'PROXY'.

OK, I tried reseting the
)
OK,
I tried reseting the client_state.xml. That gave me new jobs, but I do not think it sent the one that had completed. Not sure what happened, hopefully I didnt goof anything up to cause problems....
I grep'ed for that message file as well and got the error
Misconfigured BOINC installation or proxy-server problems!
I followed the instructions I found on the site, and I read through the information, so I am fairly certain that the installation isnt the problem.
Bruce suggested the proxy anyway, so I will check into that tonight when I have some time and see if that changes anything.
Thanks guys,

Hey Guys,
I think life should be good now. I checked back after a couple hours, and the credit is shown as pending, the computers are getting work, and sending results back, and it isnt gripping at me anymore. So thank you for your suggestions.
