Limited GPU Memory

The GPUs on my two systems have only 2gb of memory and are producing errors on some GW tasks.  I have CPU cores available to process these, but there seems to be no way to tell BOINC to process GW apps on the CPU and to process the less memory intensive apps on the GPU.

I tried setting the GPU Utilizing Factor of GW apps to -1 to turn it off, but that is no longer a valid value.

As an interim fix I have set one system profile to pretend that there is no GPU, so it will process any CPU task, and the other system profile to acknowledge the GPU, but never process GW tasks.

Can you suggest a better way to make the best use of the GPUs without causing all those GW errors?

You need to go into your settings and only allow the

Gamma-ray pulsar binary search #1 on GPUs v1.22 () windows_x86_64

tasks as they will run just fine on your gpu, the others will not as they require up to 4gb of onboard the gpu memory.

Go to your Project

Go to your Project Preferences and turn off GW gpu application so you don't attempt to run the GW app on your 2GB cards. They will work fine on the GRP gpu application.
