Background information...
I have dial up access to the internet. So, I use the BOINC manager facility to disable and enable BOINC network access when I'm connected to the internet.
Today when I was allowing BOINC access, I forgot to check for transfers before I quit, so I got this error when I asked boinc to disable BOINC network access:
06/09/2005 5:03:07 PM|Einstein@Home|Unrecoverable error for result w1_0288.0__0288.1_0.1_T03_S4hB_2 (WU download error: couldn't get input files: w1_0288.0 -200 )
Oops... stopped a data file download... Ok, my bad. But then a strange thing occured when I enabled the network access. It continued to download the data file even though it had deleted the WU from the work queue. BOINC transfer section had not been notified that file was supposed to be toast. I suspect the file would not have survived validation check either. Since I value my download time, I aborted the transfer.
