don't know if this is relevant but i did that 'patcher.com S5Txxxx.dat' last night (before you put up the instruction too) and i thought it had patched correctly only to find this morning the results say it hadn't.
Tried again with 'patcher S5Txxxx.dat' and is working properly now. Confirmed in results.
don't know why that happend
an easy way to run the patcher in windows. First put the 3 files in one folder. Then right click on the .dat file and select 'open with'. Then choose the patcher, click 'ok'. Press any key when the patcher tells you. Then copy the patched file to your einstein folder.
Just takes a couple clicks and it is done.

With the 3 files (patcher.com, .dat and the .exe) all in one folder, dragging the .dat file onto the patcher might work, too. Even easier.

You're right, that does work too. Sometimes I forget drag and drop, because right click menus have been around longer, lol.

4c. Using a DOS box (Cmd shell) in that folder, run the command patcher.com S5Txxxx.dat
This produces an error.
The correct command is patcher S5xxxxx.dat
????
Sorry, doesn't produce an error for me.
I've just done patcher S5T0003.dat and it worked perfectly to patch the stock app with the 0003 patch file.
Sorry, to be clearer don't use .com after patcher use only patcher S5xxxxx.dat
OK, but it still doesn't produce an error for me. I've just retried it using "patcher.com" in full and there was no problem. I'm using WinXP Professional. Maybe it's your version of Windows. I can't imagine that even Windows would be that stupid.
On another point, other posters have suggested using drag & drop and the context menu as quick and easy ways to do the patching. I've just tried drag & drop and it looks like it worked but it didn't!!! A DOS box opened on the screen and I was able to type a spacebar to get the operation to proceed. The DOS box flashed quickly and disappeared but the einstein app was NOT patched.
So, the only safe way is to open the DOS prompt, navigate to the directory where the files are and then issue the command as listed in the READ ONLY thread. I've adjusted the notes in that thread to reflect this.

I had 2 problems with patching:
1. I had uncorect downloaded S5TXXXX.dat file - my firewall is blocking some site (bug in nforce firewall) so I must deactivate firewall and download patchfile again (three hour of work when I found this stupidity)
2. Don't use a spacebar (or other key). Use ENTER. After patching you must see on screen message "Status: Done."
