Well I updated to BOINC

Well I updated to BOINC 6.12.33 and the chunkiness is back. Even with the exclusive app setting in place.

I"m just about done with this. If those guys at BOINC cant figure out how to make this situation behave I'm going to be calling it quits.

Why don't you just stop using

Why don't you just stop using your GPU (at least with Einstein@home) if it bothers you so?

Also know that the default

Also know that the default setting for use of the GPU is when the system is idle... aka no one behind the keyboard. If you then want to use the GPU for calculations while you are using the computer, then you have no right to yell at the BOINC developers. It's your own choice to do it differently than the default setting.

Why dont I have a right to

Why dont I have a right to yell at the developers on this? I have this thing set for exclusive apps. When these exclusive apps run its obvious this new BOINC client is not doing what its suppose to and being told to do like the last build did.

Which developers? Why are you yelling at the Einstein@Home developers instead of the BOINC developers?

You sure you've not set BOINC

You sure you've not set BOINC to Run Always? As then, of course, preferences will be ignored.
In the mean time, a real good test is Notepad. Set Notepad.exe as one of the 's. (notepad.exe)

Here's what happens on my system:

I then launch Notepad and look:

So, if I manage that, why can't you? What's so darn different between our systems that your old WinXP can't do it, but my Win7 Ultimate 64bit can? Unless you set BOINC to run always and therefore to ignore any of these pesky preferences.
Or you made changes to the cc_config.xml file, saved them, but forgot to tell BOINC to read them anew.
We can't tell. You do not give enough information about that. Plus House is right... :-)

Its set on run based on

Its set on run based on preferences. Unless it wiped out the old config file when I updated BOINC, it should be the same thing. My old Windows XP can do it as it did it last time with the last version of BOINC. Sorry not yeelling at the E@home guys just sorta annoyed at this. Now I gotta yank all this outta here or something. i cant play anything now without it chunking up.
