As always, excellent work!

Thanks. I hope it also rocks on K6 processors.

Does a 3DNow!+ and/or a SSE3 optimization make sense? I just ask, in case you are bored and don't know what to do next time. ;-)

3DNow! extension has not any useful instructions to us, but SSE3 would be very helpful (FISTTP, LDDQU). (~5..15% improvement)
I don't have any SSE3 processor, so I'm really waiting for Conroe...

I ask myself anyway, how you find the free time beside your job, to do so much work for all these DC projects.

I like my job, I like coding...
...and I optimise everywhere. ;-)

On AMD Opteron 280 (dual core

On AMD Opteron 280 (dual core 2.4GHz):

D40/S39L = 3335/3378 for r1_1444.5__213?_S4R2a_? results.

That's slightly more than 1% of speedup.

Would Terminal Services access to a dual Nocona help?

And of course, thanks for all your excellent work!

I just added a Sempron 3100+

I just added a Sempron 3100+ to the project last night. :)

On a whim, I tried installing the original 4.19 client to see how long the estimate was going to be, and it predicted something like 19440 seconds. I then upgraded to the 5.2.13 Boinc client and the D40 science app that akosf just released... completed times are running about 4320 seconds!

That's just amazing - really gives an interesting perspective to what kind of improvements have been made in the short time of this project. :)

Sorry, but I think it would be very time-consuming. (weak efficiency)

3.4Ghz Nocona too slow... OK, I can see that. How about a Manchester @2.6GHz, then? (47min/WU average the last 2 days - roughly half the time the Nocona needs with HT.)

My real question is more about the method (RDP over WAN) - could it be of any use to you at all?
